Choir Director & Information Technology Coordinator
Virginia Tenor and Conductor, Jeff Prillaman is the co-founder and President of the Board of Directors of Da Capo Virginia, an experienced business man-technology leader, and a passionate advocate for community music ministry, music education, elite performance experiences, and inclusionary excellence. He has enjoyed a variety of solo engagements in both national and international venues and holds a Master of Music from the Juilliard School and a Bachelor of Music from Westminster Choir College summa cum laud in addition to a certificate in management from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
Mr. Prillaman has served communities and churches throughout his multifaceted career and music ministry is at the core of his actions and decisions every day. He has served vocationally as the minster of music at Branch’s Baptist church in Richmond VA, and at Raritan Valley Baptist and Somerset Hills Baptist in NJ. His connections to Henry County are deep as he grew up in Ridgeway VA, is a 1988 graduate of Drewry Mason High School and was a long time member of Starling Avenue Baptist Church under the mentorship of Dr. David Adkins.
Mr. Prillaman has shared stages as both a conductor and tenor with many of the world’s greatest artists but he is most proud of his decisions to stand in the gap between business and arts advocacy and his dedication to family, community and ministry.
His most recent recording endeavor provided a special opportunity to collaborate and link all of the above. Be Thou My Vision, the music of Dr. Charles Hulin features “Come thou fount” a song cycle written specifically for him and based on sacred harp hymn tunes and is available from Mr. Prillaman directly or online in multiple locations. Additionally, Mr. Prillaman is featured on recordings by Elysium records, and on Chesky records with the Westminster Choir in their celebrated O Magnum Mysterium from 1994.
He enjoyed a decade long career as an Information Technology Director at Capital One and is currently employed as a solutions architect with Cisco Systems.
Available for projects, performances and lectures, he resides in the Martinsville and Henry County area of Southwestern VA with his wife and four children.
