Action Plan in Support of the Mission Statement

The Mission of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church is to “go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15). This means that we are a congregation that Reaches Out and Welcomes In. In the name of Jesus Christ, we reach out to our local and global communities with the Good News of God’s Love and Grace.

The Mission of Forest Hills Presbyterian Church is to “go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation” (Mark 16:15). This means that we are a congregation that Reaches Out and Welcomes In. In the name of Jesus Christ, we reach out to our local and global communities with the Good News of God’s Love and Grace.
- Maintain a full program of Christian Education and Worship, including study of The Word, children’s ministry for all ages, a full music program, and opportunities for fellowship and congregational care
- Support the mission efforts of the Presbyterian Church (USA) through Presbytery, Synod, and General Assembly mission programs through special offerings
- Encourage youth and members to participate in camps and conferences as well as serving on Presbytery committees and task forces
- Organize and actively participate in community-wide faith based initiatives and celebrations
- Expand the FHPC reach into the community by organizing a community-wide Presbyterian Fellowship to leverage resources and establish programs and celebrations in response to yet un-addressed/under-addressed needs in the community.
- Enable theological and social educational growth within the community by organizing and sustaining two lecture series, open to the community
- Theological - presentations of biblical insight by the best minds in theological studies
- Social - presentations by the best minds in community development and social issues
- More fully utilize church facilities, particularly the Common Ground chapel, for special programs and events to benefit the community
- Provide additional worship opportunities, on alternate days and times, with utilization of contemporary music and modes of worship
- Offer space to community groups (AA, grief groups, Parents without Partners, Mothers’ Morning Out, etc.)
- Offer concert series
- Increase public awareness and publicity about FHPC programs, initiatives, and happenings
- Enhance involvement and services to senior citizens.
